Mark Fisher Joins to Head European Tech Practice, Hugh Sandeman Appointed Head of European Telecom
LONDON and NEW YORK, 2 September 2008 -- Jefferies International Limited, the UK subsidiary of US-based Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Mark Fisher as Managing Director and Head of European Technology Investment Banking, and the appointment of Hugh Sandeman as Head of European Telecom Investment Banking. Messrs. Fisher and Sandeman will be based in the Firm's London office.
As Chairman of Jefferies' International Technology Investment Banking, Bruce Huber will remain involved at a senior level with the Firm's global technology effort. In addition, he will continue to lead Jefferies' CleanTech investment banking group internationally as well as co-head Sponsor Coverage in London.

Mr. Fisher will be responsible for driving the Firm's European technology investment banking practice, working closely with Messrs. Ellison and Huber in this regard. Mr. Fisher has more than twenty years of experience in investment banking and was most recently a managing director and head of European technology investment banking at Citigroup where he spent eight Years and previously, he was at Dresdner Kleinwort initially as a director in the Nordic coverage group and latterly as director and head of the technology investment banking group. Mr. Fisher has worked on a broad range of transactions with such clients as Astron, Autonomy, blinkx, Northgate Information Solutions, Philips, Siemens, Smartstream and Xchanging.
Mr. Sandeman, a Managing Director at Jefferies since early 2007, will lead the Firm's International telecom investment banking practice, working with Mr. Ellison and Caroline van Scheltinga, Head of Jefferies' Telecom Investment Banking effort. Mr. Sandeman will also remain involved at a senior level with the Firm's business in India, where he has played a key role over the past two years. He has more than twenty years of industry experience, and, before joining Jefferies, was head of business development for India at the London Stock Exchange. Previously, Mr. Sandeman spent 18 years as an investment banker at Dresdner Kleinwort and Merrill Lynch in New York, Tokyo, London and Frankfurt, including four years as head of Dresdner Kleinwort's telecoms practice.
